Chapter 15

Chapter 15

Clarissa stood frozen in place, her whole body rigid. Tears slid down her cheeks, but no one pitied her.

And Alpha Damien didn't comfort her like he used to. Instead, he turned around and walked into his study without looking back.

Clarissa clenched her fists tightly. She touched her belly and gritted her teeth as she shouted, "But I'm pregnant!"

Alpha Damien froze completely.

He instantly turned his head and stared at her without saying a word. His gaze was as cold as a silver blade.

Clarissa was startled by his reaction, her heart skipping a beat. She couldn't help but say, "This is your pup, Damien. I'm willing to bear your heir now. Really, can't we just be together properly?"

A long silence.

"Have it rejected."

Two words came from Alpha Damien's mouth like a blade, cutting through all her fantasies at once.

Clarissa's eyes widened. "What did you say?"

"I said, have the pup rejected by a Healer."

Alpha Damien's voice was so calm it was almost heartless. "I don't want it. You shouldn't keep this pup either."

In just a few breaths, Alpha Damien thought about many things.

He realized that the moment he learned Clarissa was pregnant, he didn't feel happy at all.

Instead, he had been much more overjoyed when he first learned that I was pregnant.

What he had always looked forward to wasn't having a pup, but having a pup with me.

But he realized this too late.

Clarissa's face instantly turned pale, her lips trembling. "Alpha Damien, this is your own flesh and blood—and you're telling me to have it rejected?"

"So what if it's mine?" His gaze was like a cold night. "I don't love you, and I won't love your pup."

She took a step back, her eyes filled with disbelief. "You've changed. How can you treat me like this..."

"You should have expected this," Alpha Damien's gaze was sharp. "I was too stupid before to see what kind of she-wolf you really are."

Clarissa gritted her teeth. "You regret that I drove Seraphina away, don't you?"

"Don't forget, the one with you now is me! Everyone knows I'm your chosen mate!"

"So what?" Alpha Damien laughed coldly, his eyes filled with tired indifference. "You think just because you're in the spotlight now, you've 'won'? Clarissa, you think too highly of yourself."

He walked closer coldly, almost pressing up to her face. "You're not worthy at all."

"You—" Clarissa's breathing became erratic. She gritted her teeth and questioned, "Didn't you always want me? You used to spoil me so much. You said I was the only moonlight in your heart!"

"Yes, I did want you." He said each word clearly. "But that wasn't love. That was youthful stubbornness, an illusion, an obsession. I thought what I wanted was you."

"But after she left, I realized how wrong I was."

"She is my true mate. My mistake was not understanding sooner—that I love her."

Clarissa stood there, her face growing paler by the inch.

"Then why were you with me?"

"Just stubbornness." His face showed no expression.

Clarissa gritted her teeth, her eyes vicious. "I'm going to have this pup. Even if you don't want it, your parents will!"

With that, she stormed off.

Clarissa indeed did what she said. Early the next morning, she went to the Blackmoon Pack house.

She sat on the sofa, her eyes red and swollen, her voice soft and pitiful. "Matriarch Isolde, Former Alpha Alaric, I really didn't want to trouble you... but Damien... he won't acknowledge this pup."
