Chapter 6

Chapter 6

In the ruined fortress, Cassandra sat tied to a chair with a silver-laced explosive strapped to her body. "Matthew, what are you doing?"

The caretaker Agnes stumbled over, trembling with fear. "Miss Cassandra, you have to save me!"

Seeing Agnes approaching like a pest, Cassandra quickly pushed her away. "Agnes! You can't slander me!"

Realizing the situation was bad, Agnes confessed on her own. "Alpha King, I'll tell you, I'll tell you everything! Please don't kill me!"

Matthew signaled to pause the explosive timer. "It was Miss Cassandra, it was her! She's the one who told me to feed the young heir the egg. Miss Cassandra made me stuff a whole egg with the shell in there!"

Cassandra rushed over and slapped Agnes hard. "Don't make false accusations! What proof do you have?"

"It was you! You knew my rogue son owed 500,000 gold crowns outside. You said if I killed the young heir, you'd help pay off my son's debts."

Seeing Agnes about to say more, Cassandra grabbed her throat tightly. "Matthew, she's just talking nonsense."

Just as Agnes was about to be strangled to death, Ronan pulled Cassandra away to prevent her from silencing the witness.

Once released, Agnes gasped for air. "It was Miss Cassandra! A few days ago, she had me open a bank account. The money has already been transferred. You can check my transfer records, Alpha King."

Beta Silas rushed over. "Alpha King, we found it. Agnes did receive 500,000 gold crowns recently. And also..."

Matthew said impatiently, "What else? Speak up!"

"The evidence Luna Olivia investigated about Miss Cassandra with other Alphas is indeed real. Even... even Miss Cassandra's pup belongs to that rival Alpha."

Matthew laughed hysterically. "Olivia, I was blind and foolish. I'm sorry. Did you find out where Olivia went?"

"No, Alpha King. The Ghostmoon Pack's protection shields her completely."

Cassandra was tied to a chair by several warriors. "Matthew! What are you doing?"

"Don't you love feeding eggs with shells to pups? I'll let you try something even more delicious."

Matthew put on gloves, scooped out a freshly heated silver-laced object, and forced it into Cassandra's mouth. Small burns immediately formed around her lips.

"Mmm mmm, Matthew!" Cassandra whimpered.

Matthew ignored her completely.

Cassandra managed to whimper out, "I know where Olivia is!"

"Really?"

Cassandra nodded vigorously.

Pack healer Corbin immediately came over to remove the burning object from Cassandra's mouth.

"Olivia is... Bah! I won't tell you unless you remove this explosive from me."

Matthew kicked Cassandra to the ground. "You better tell me honestly."

"I'll tell, I'll tell! Olivia is in the Borderlands, at the Ghostmoon Pack. Her mother Morwenna is the Alpha of Ghostmoon. You've been mated to her for so many years and didn't even know. How ridiculous!"

After hearing this, Matthew immediately took his private jet to the Borderlands.

After arranging Asher's funeral, I threw myself into pack operations.

During my time with Matthew helping him rebuild his pack, many of the strategic plans had my designs in them. I'd been trained since childhood to be a competent Alpha heir.

Only our ancient bloodline is restricted, and once I leave the territory of the Ghost Moon pack, my alpha abilities will be suppressed, and the wolf will fall into a deep sleep, which makes Matthew believe I am a worthless rogue omega wolf.

When I first returned to lead the Ghostmoon Pack, they definitely didn't accept my sudden leadership. I've been working tirelessly these past few days.

Today, just as I left our pack headquarters, I saw our border guards talking to someone at the entrance.

This kind of thing happened often, so I didn't pay attention to who it was.

"Olivia, come home with me!"

Only then did I recognize Matthew's voice.

I didn't want to deal with him. After all, we had nothing to do with each other anymore.

But just as I got in my car, Matthew followed right behind me.

"Get out!"

"Olivia, I wronged you and our pup. Come back with me, okay? We can have more pups. And I want to see Asher..."

I laughed coldly. "What relationship do we have? Alpha King, I think Asher wouldn't forgive you either. He wouldn't want to see you again."

"Of course we have a relationship. You're my marked mate."

After he said this, the car fell silent. Matthew had forgotten that when he marked me, he had just succeeded in rebuilding his pack. We only had a simple mating ceremony and never completed the full Luna bonding ritual.

When we were ready for the Luna ceremony, I found out I was pregnant. Worried about the stress on our pup, I said we'd complete the bonding after the birth.

But when I finished my recovery, Cassandra returned. He threw this matter aside and completely forgot his promise.

I opened the car window on Matthew's side, got out, and locked the car in one smooth motion.

Now even being in the same space as him made me feel sick. "Really? Then where's our Luna bond? Do we have one?"

Matthew paused, finally realizing I'd been with him for three years without complete mate status.

He couldn't speak. "I'll banish Cassandra from the Northern Territory. I won't let her bother us anymore."

Matthew jumped out through the car window. I shook my head. "Matthew, don't you understand? There's no future for us. Asher is dead. Isn't it better if we go our separate ways?"

Matthew couldn't believe I would abandon him so easily. He couldn't believe I could leave him completely. "No! Olivia, come back with me, please?"

"I have no status or obligation to go back with you anymore, Matthew. Go back. We'll never see each other again."

Matthew couldn't accept that we had no relationship anymore. He couldn't accept that Olivia, who used to say she'd never leave and always smiled sweetly, could say such harsh words about never seeing each other again.

My heart was already dead.

After saying this, I drove away.

But lately, I've been harassed by Matthew every day going to and from pack headquarters.

"Olivia, what will it take for you to forgive me?"

I quickly got in my car. Without thinking, I said, "Kill Cassandra to pay for our pup's life!"
