Chapter 19
Chapter 19
Genevieve's teeth chattered with rage. "Elara, don't worry. I will get justice for you and the child for all the wrongs you've suffered!"
Elara smiled slightly but said nothing.
If Seraphina made her unhappy, she shouldn't expect to have a good time either.
Elara went outside to hail a taxi home when a Rolls-Royce stopped in front of her.
The rear window slowly rolled down, and Damien turned to look at her. "Get in."
After getting in the car, Elara asked, "Didn't you say I could go home by myself? Why did you still come to pick me up?"
"I heard from my assistant that you had many meetings today. Are they all finished?"
Damien was handling work on his phone and didn't respond.
Elara felt that Damien was acting strange today. She looked up at the driver in the rearview mirror.
The driver met Elara's eyes and said, "Luna, when the Alpha King heard you went to see Luna Genevieve, he canceled all his meetings just to come find you."
"You're the only one who can calm him down a bit. On the way here, the Alpha King looked like he was ready to kill someone."
Hearing this, Elara couldn't help but laugh.
Suddenly, Damien stopped his work, looked up and glared at the driver in the front seat, saying coldly, "You talk too much. Should I transfer you to the PR department?"
The driver quickly shut up and focused on driving.
Elara said, "The driver is just telling the truth. Why are you being so fierce?"
"Are you jealous that I met with my former mother-in-law?"
"I met with her for your sake too. After all, you crippled Kaelen's leg. Although the Croft family fears the royal pack's power, if I step in and offer some sweeteners, at least things won't get too ugly, right?"
Seeing that Damien remained silent the whole time, Elara moved closer and gently bit his earlobe.
The man's face visibly reddened, and Elara's voice became softer. "Come on, don't be angry. I just didn't tell you because I was afraid you'd be jealous."
"But I can promise you that from now on, I won't meet with any of those people privately again."
"Damien, are you not confident in yourself? You treat me so well. Would I have to be blind to choose someone else over you?"
Elara's flirting skills were quite basic, even clumsy, but she had Damien completely wrapped around her finger.
Damien's dark eyes stared at Elara as he cupped her head, bringing their faces closer together.
"If you're not blind, how did you mistake your savior?"
"You've already been stupid once. Who's to say you won't be stupid a second time?"
Elara: ......
Seeing Elara at a loss for words, Damien smiled and slowly let go of her. "Tonight we're going back to the royal estate for dinner. Your mother-in-law wants to meet you."
Elara looked at Damien helplessly.
This man was really petty. Just because she went to see Genevieve, he immediately arranged for her to meet his mother that very night.
"This is too sudden. I haven't prepared anything. At least give me some time to get ready."
Meeting her mother-in-law for the first time without bringing anything would be too inappropriate.
Damien said, "My mother said the gifts don't matter. What matters is the person."
"As long as you're there, she'll be very happy."
"Tonight is a family dinner, but there will be quite a few people. Even when I'm not around, you don't need to be afraid. I'm the Alpha King, and you're the future Luna Queen. If anyone makes you unhappy, you don't need to show them any courtesy."
Damien's words warmed Elara's heart.
Three years ago, when she first joined the Croft family, she also attended a Croft family dinner. Before leaving, Kaelen kept reminding her:
"There will be many pack elders there today. You represent my image, so don't embarrass me."
"In the Croft family, you're a junior. Whatever the elders say, you listen. Don't go against them."
In the Croft family, Elara had suffered many grievances.
In the royal pack, Damien gave her enough respect and security.
