Chapter 21
Chapter 21
Elara was stunned for a few seconds.
She had thought Isadora was going to give her a hard time, but she never expected they had once shared similar experiences.
"Damien, since you've brought her home to mark, treat her well. If I find out you're not good to Elara, don't blame me for kicking you out of the house."
If it were anyone else, Damien would have thrown them out long ago.
But since these words came from Isadora, Damien smiled and said, "Don't worry. For me, there's only marking and death, no bond severance."
Isadora personally took Elara's hand and led her to the center of the living room. In front of everyone, she announced:
"From now on, Elara Vance is my daughter-in-law, the future Luna Queen of the Obsidian Mountain Pack. Everyone in the Blackwood family must respect her as much as they respect me."
With Isadora's backing, no one in the Blackwood family dared to look down on Elara anymore.
Isadora didn't like noisy occasions. After helping Elara establish her position, she left.
The people around Elara were all branch members of the Blackwood family, and they showed her nothing but respect.
The banquet lasted until after ten in the evening. Since the Blackwood mansion was far from their residence, the two decided to stay the night.
Elara had just finished her shower and was about to go downstairs for some moonlight wine to help her sleep.
Suddenly, someone appeared behind her. "Sister-in-law!"
Elara was so startled that her arms went weak. She looked at Cora with lingering fear. "Cora, you'll scare people to death appearing like that in the middle of the night."
Cora stuck out her tongue playfully. "That's only because you were too busy earlier tonight, so we didn't have any time to be alone together. Now that everyone's gone, I can finally have a heart-to-heart talk with you."
Elara glanced at the time - it was almost midnight. "Cora, whatever it is, let's talk tomorrow. It's really late now. You should get some rest too."
Just as Elara was about to leave, Cora grabbed her arm. "Sister-in-law, don't be in such a hurry."
"I have something important to tell you! About Seraphina!"
Elara, who had been ready to return to her room, immediately became interested when she heard it was about Seraphina.
"What is it?"
Cora pulled Elara to sit on a nearby sofa and began to tell her story:
"Sister-in-law, I've heard about your situation. That Seraphina not only stole your identity, but she also destroyed your mating. Such a terrible woman deserves to die!"
"Actually, I met Seraphina abroad, and she was quite the player!"
"She originally latched onto a wealthy Alpha overseas, but it turned out he had a true mate. When Seraphina was discovered, the mate chased her around and beat her up."
"After that, she switched targets and went after other rich Alphas. She even went to a dark magic user to get a ritual done to restore her purity."
Elara listened with her worldview completely shattered.
Although she had already guessed that Seraphina wouldn't be up to any good abroad, she never imagined she would sink to such depths.
"What happened next?"
"Seraphina has sky-high ambitions. The Alphas she wanted to seduce were all successful pack leaders, but these Alphas either just played around with her or had true mates. At best, Seraphina was just a mistress."
"Maybe she got tired of playing around abroad, so she came back to find someone to take over. She actually found some fool to do it."
"Sister-in-law, does your ex-mate have something wrong with his brain? He threw away someone as wonderful as you to be with that kind of woman."
Just thinking about it made Cora feel disgusted. She shuddered and shook her head.
Elara smiled bitterly. "Kaelen probably doesn't know about Seraphina's affairs abroad."
Seraphina was always good at pretending. How could she tell Kaelen about those things?
Even when she went abroad back then, her excuse was that she felt too young and wanted to study overseas to mature herself.
It was clearly a clumsy excuse, but Kaelen believed it.
"Tsk, then your ex-mate is basically a sucker."
"Oh, and there's more..."
Before Cora could finish speaking, someone grabbed her left ear.
"Cora, do you have too much free time?"
