The familiar voice made Cora shiver all over. "Brother... brother, I'm not idle, I'm fine now. You can take sister-in-law away."

Cora directly pushed Elara out like she was a hot potato.

Seeing this, Damien finally let go of Cora and gave her a cold warning: "Don't let me see you bothering her again."

Only after Damien had taken Elara far away did Cora dare to mutter a few words:

"He cares more about the opposite sex than family!"

For several days in a row, Kaelen stayed in the hospital.

Although Genevieve said she wouldn't care about him anymore, she secretly kept looking for various famous healers for him.

With the contact information Elara had given her, Genevieve successfully made an appointment with Elder Healer Alaric.

In the hospital room, the Vance family elders, Seraphina, and Genevieve were all present.

Elder Healer Alaric looked through all of Kaelen's examination reports, then took a small silver probe and tested around the wound area.

Kaelen was in so much pain that cold sweat broke out. "Elder Alaric, it hurts!"

Elder Healer Alaric put away the silver probe and adjusted his reading glasses. "Alpha Kaelen, I can help heal your leg halfway. You'll be able to walk normally without a cane most of the time, but you'll have a slight limp."

"However, on rainy days, the condition will flare up and your leg will be in excruciating pain. You can think about it. If you're willing to endure this kind of suffering, I can perform this healing ritual."

Due to the torment of his injury, Kaelen's temper had been getting worse and worse lately.

Especially when he heard that he would be in pain for the rest of his life, Kaelen angrily threw everything nearby onto the floor.

"Didn't you say you found the most capable healer? This is the plan from a top expert? I think it's just an empty reputation!"

Suddenly, Elder Healer Alaric's expression changed, his voice turning ice cold: "Mrs. Croft, I'm already retired. If it weren't for Elara asking me to come out of retirement, I wouldn't have taken this case. Since he looks down on me so much, then find someone else!"

"I'd like to see who else in all the territories has the ability to perform this ritual besides me!"

"Hmph!"

Genevieve quickly apologized to Elder Healer Alaric, but he turned a deaf ear and left the hospital directly with his people.

Genevieve was so angry her heart palpitated. She returned to the hospital room and slapped him hard, scolding angrily: "Kaelen Croft, what exactly do you want? This is already the best solution available. What more are you dissatisfied with!"

"Do you know how much effort we put in to get Elder Healer Alaric to come out of retirement!"

Kaelen's head was knocked to the side by the slap. He only caught one piece of information, his eyes showing a hint of hope:

"Mom, he just said that Elara asked him to come. So Elara hasn't abandoned me, right?"

Genevieve sneered: "You think Elara wants to care about you? She's just trying to earn Damien a good reputation!"

"You think Elara still likes you? Keep dreaming!"

Kaelen was rendered speechless by the scolding, his face darkening inch by inch.

"In-law, Kaelen is just in a bad mood because of his injury. Don't hold it against him."

"Kaelen's leg won't heal overnight. Why don't we talk about the two children's mating first?"

Lyra stood up and walked over to Genevieve.

Seraphina's expression changed immediately. She no longer had any interest in Kaelen.

"Mom, Brother Kaelen's leg hasn't recovered yet. Our mating isn't urgent."

But Lyra firmly refused: "Seraphina, didn't you come back this time because you wanted to be with Kaelen? Since you can't do anything else right now anyway, why not settle things first."

"Mom..." Seraphina was about to say something when Genevieve agreed immediately. "She can be marked by him, but there won't be a ceremony."

Alistair was immediately displeased. "In-law, this is Seraphina's first mating. How can there be no ceremony?"

Genevieve replied sarcastically: "Elara didn't have a ceremony when she was marked into the Croft family. Why should a mistress who stole her position deserve one?"

"You two, allowing Seraphina to enter our family is already my greatest tolerance. You still want a grand celebration? Are you trying to let everyone know that the Vance family's adoptive daughter climbed into bed to steal her own sister's mate?"

"Your Vance family might not mind losing face like that, but the Croft family can't afford such shame!"
