Chapter 26
Chapter 26
Both Elara and Cora couldn't help but feel disgusted.
Kaelen wheeled his chair over to Elara with concern, saying, "Elara, don't be afraid. I would never treat you like that. I love you so much."
Elara replied numbly, "But you once loved Seraphina deeply too."
Kaelen's spine stiffened. He gripped Elara's chin, forcing her to look at him.
"Elara, as long as you don't betray me, I will never point a gun at you in this lifetime."
"The helicopter will arrive in ten minutes. In ten minutes, you'll belong to me completely."
"As long as..."
Before he could finish his sweet words, a sudden explosion sounded outside the door. Large amounts of dust poured in.
"What's happening!"
The bodyguard reported, "Alpha Kaelen, many people suddenly showed up outside and blew up the main gate!"
Suddenly, a glimmer of light appeared in Elara's lifeless eyes.
Only Damien would dare make such a big scene!
Seeing the hope in Elara's eyes, jealousy surged in Kaelen's heart.
"Elara, you've only been with him for a few months. How can you change your heart so quickly?"
"But I've made foolproof preparations today. Even he can't take you away."
Elara frowned, feeling uneasy. "What did you do?"
"I've planted silver bombs all around the Vance family estate. If I can't take you away today, we'll all die together."
"If we can't live together, then we'll die together."
Elara's pupils contracted sharply, her body going rigid.
"Kaelen, you madman!"
"Have you thought about your mother at all!"
Kaelen's cold eyes showed a moment of emotion before returning to their ruthless state.
"Elara, I have no way back now. Playing the emotion card with me at this point is useless."
"Either you make Damien retreat, or we all die together. Choose one."
Elara pressed her lips together, unable to make a choice.
The sound of helicopter propellers grew closer outside. Kaelen's patience was running thin.
"Elara, don't push me."
Elara dug her nails into her palms. At the last moment before his patience ran out, she made her decision.
"I choose to go with you, but you must let all of them go."
Finally, some humanity returned to Kaelen's eyes as he smiled. "Of course."
"Let me go."
Kaelen frowned. Releasing her would be too dangerous.
"Or send Cora out. Once she's safe, I'll go with you."
Cora was caught by accident anyway. Kaelen didn't want to use her for anything, so he had her released directly.
A few minutes later, Elara was led out with her hands bound by Kaelen. The helicopter hovered above the estate.
"Elara, don't play any tricks with me. You can't afford the consequences," Kaelen warned one last time.
As they came out, Elara's eyes met Damien's.
Though neither spoke, they both understood what the other meant through their mate bond.
"Your leg isn't convenient. You go up first," Elara said expressionlessly.
Kaelen was very cautious. "You go first. I'll cover the rear."
Elara didn't delay any longer and obediently climbed the ladder first.
Just as she separated from Kaelen, Elara and Damien exchanged a glance.
The next second, a royal sniper in a tree thirty feet away took aim.
Headshot!
"Bang!"
Kaelen didn't even have time to react before he was killed instantly.
Damien rushed to Elara's side, holding her tightly. "It's over. I'm here. I won't let anything happen to you."
......
Kaelen's death caused quite a stir.
Even though he was dead, Damien still implicated the Crimson River Pack.
Overnight, the Crimson River Pack was absorbed by neighboring territories.
Because Elara had been hit with a stick and had a mild concussion, the pack healer required her to stay in the healing den for observation.
Damien personally fed her moonlight herb broth.
Silas came in and said, "Alpha King, Luna Queen, the Vance family elders are outside wanting to see you."
Damien didn't make the decision for Elara. Instead, he looked at her.
Elara glanced toward the door.
After going through all this, the elderly couple had aged several years.
"Tell them I won't see them. I've already repaid the Vance family for giving birth to me. Please ask them not to bother me anymore."
Silas nodded and pulled out a recording device. "Luna Queen, this was left by Kaelen before his death. He said it was for you."
Elara glanced at it expressionlessly and said calmly, "Throw it away."
"From now on, throw away anything related to Kaelen."
