Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Kaelen was, after all, a man. Being teased by Seraphina like this had stirred his desire.
The Alpha swept Seraphina up in his arms and carried her upstairs.
The atmosphere in the room grew heated, but at the crucial moment, Kaelen let go of Seraphina.
"Seraphina, I'm not feeling well today. Let's do this another time."
With those words, Kaelen immediately got up, put on his clothes, and went to the study next door.
Just moments ago, at that critical step, Kaelen's mind had been filled entirely with images of Elara.
Elara would be rather shy about such things, unlike Seraphina.
Kaelen used to think that doing such things with Seraphina was the most interesting, but now he felt that Elara's reactions were the most genuine.
Seeing that Kaelen wasn't making any moves, Seraphina took the initiative, only to be pushed away coldly by the man.
"Seraphina, I just remembered there are some things at the pack. You should rest first. Don't wait up for me."
With that, Kaelen immediately fastened his belt, grabbed his clothes, and left the room.
Before Seraphina could even process what had happened, Kaelen was already gone.
......
The next day, Elara had just woken up when she saw a message from Alistair.
Elara's eyes dimmed slightly.
Although those two at the Vance family were her biological parents, there wasn't much affection between them.
Except when necessary, Elara rarely went back, and Alistair rarely called her home either.
Lost in thought, Damien wrapped his arms around her from behind. "What's wrong? You look unhappy so early in the morning."
Elara said, "Father wants me to come home for a visit."
Damien knew that Elara didn't get along well with the Vance family, and he knew that those two didn't think much of her.
"If you want to go back, I'll come with you. With me there, they won't dare treat you badly."
Elara turned around and buried her face in Damien's neck. "Damien, thank you."
Damien's lips curved slightly, and he said carelessly, "Just saying thanks doesn't seem very sincere."
"Tonight..."
Elara guessed what Damien was about to say. Her ears turned slightly red as she covered his mouth threateningly. "Don't you dare say it."
"I haven't been back in a long time either. I should prepare some things to bring back."
Damien took Elara's hand. "No need. I'll have Silas prepare everything. Once you're dressed, we can head out."
They were mates now, so Elara didn't stand on ceremony with Damien. She turned and went to the walk-in closet to change.
Elara changed into an apricot-colored dress. When she came downstairs, she saw the servants loading many items into the trunk.
"We don't need so many things. People might think you're bringing a dowry."
Damien said, "We're about to announce our mating. It's only right to bring some gifts for my future father-in-law and mother-in-law."
"This way, they won't dare look down on you either."
Elara didn't care about such things, but seeing Damien's thoughtfulness, she didn't refuse.
Just as Elara got in the car, Damien received a phone call. There was some urgent matter at the royal territory that required his attention.
"Go handle it first. With all the people you've assigned to me, I won't suffer any grievances."
Damien leaned down and kissed Elara's forehead lightly, arranged everything, and then left.
Two hours later, the car arrived at the Vance family's front door.
Silas asked, "Luna, should we bring all the gifts in now?"
Elara replied, "Yes, bring them in."
The royal guards behind her carried boxes of gifts. As soon as Elara stepped through the door, a shattered teacup flew past her eyes.
"So you do remember to come back! I thought you'd forgotten about the Vance family and us as your parents!"
