I had long guessed that the Vance family wouldn't stand up for me, but I never expected them to say such disgusting things.

"Ha, doesn't understand? Too young?"

"Seraphina was only born a few hours after me, so she gets to be ignorant while I have to forgive her?"

"Mother, we're both she-wolves. If you think Seraphina's behavior deserves forgiveness, then I wish you'll experience the same thing I did."

My few words made the two elders furious.

Alistair: "Enough! What's done is done. There's no point arguing about who's right or wrong now."

"Elara, I'm giving you one more chance. Break it off with that old wolf next to you and go home with Kaelen to live properly. I can pretend today never happened."

"You'll still be daddy's good daughter."

If this were before, I would have wanted to be Alistair's good daughter. Now I just found these words disgusting.

They made me sick to my stomach.

"Father, your good daughter has always been Seraphina. Since the Vance family loves her so much, I won't join this party."

"Since you all dislike me, your biological daughter, so much, from today on, I'm cutting ties with the Vance family."

"From now on, we're strangers. I'm no longer your daughter, and you're no longer my parents."

Everyone present was stunned. They never expected me to cut family ties.

Kaelen grabbed my arm and tried to persuade me: "Elara, I know you're angry, but don't be stubborn!"

"You used to depend on the Vance family, and after our mating you depended on me. Without us, how will you survive?"

I looked with disgust at the arm Kaelen had touched, shook him off forcefully, and wiped the skin he had touched with a tissue until it turned red.

"Kaelen, stop putting yourself on a pedestal."

"All these years, everything I ate and wore was paid for with my own money. Without you people, I'll only live better."

"Scum like you should get hit by a car when you go out!"

Kaelen was both shocked and angry, sneering coldly: "Elara, I really underestimated you all these years."

"Since you became my mate three years ago, this bond isn't yours to sever."

"I can pretend I don't know where you've been these past days or what you've done with whom, but from now on, you can only be mine."

Hearing this, I thought Kaelen had lost his mind.

"You're crazy!"

I struggled to break free from the man, but with the difference in strength between Alphas and regular wolves, I couldn't escape.

Silas was about to step forward to help, but the Vance family's bodyguards suddenly appeared and blocked him.

Kaelen: "Alistair, Lyra, sorry for the trouble today. I'll take Elara home first."

"Kaelen, we're already bond-severed! This is illegal imprisonment! I can sue you!"

Kaelen, who usually presented himself as gentle, rarely showed such domineering behavior.

Alistair and Lyra were also angry about my decision to cut family ties.

"Fine. We've been too lenient with her all these years. Take her back and teach her some manners."

Seeing that I was about to be taken away, Silas shouted: "Miss Elara is now the Alpha King's chosen mate. Doing this means going against the royal pack!"

Even though Silas revealed my identity, no one listened.

Kaelen loosened his tie and used it to bind my restless wrists.

Just when I felt hopeless about everyone, a gunshot startled everyone.

Then came Kaelen's painful scream.

I was thrown aside by Kaelen, but just as I was about to fall, Damien caught me firmly in his arms.

"The Crimson River Pack dares to compete with me for someone?"

"Today I'm only crippling one of your legs. Next time, I'll destroy you completely."
